How to Make Fish Biryani Recipe?

Hi Buddy, Before going into the topic we need to know some facts about fish. Fish contains high-protins, Low fat content that provides high range of health benefits. As we known, fish is extremely perishable (పాడైపోయే) food. In natural, the composition of fish is similar to that of meat, for both of them are high-protein foods. When we compare fish with Meat, we can cook easy recipes of meat like meat biryani, but instead using meat we can use fish for preparation of biryani in our food network recipes. All recipes from our food network is absolutely easy to cook.

➡ Required Ingredients:

  • Basmati rice – 2 cups
  • Fish – 4  slices
  • Onions – 1
  • Green Chillies – 2 (into small pieces)
  • Ginger-garlic paste – 2 table spoons
  • Tomato puree – 2 ( crushed)
  • Coriander leaves (Cilantro) – handful
  • Mint leaves – handful
  • Chilly powder – 2 tea spoon
  • Coriander powder – 1 tea spoon
  • Cumin powder – 1 tea spoon
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tea spoon
  • Curd – 1/2 cup
  • Salt – to taste
  • Ghee – 2 table spoon
  • Cumin seeds (జీలకర్ర) – 1 tea spoon
  • Cloves (లవంగాలు)– 5
  • Cinnamon stick (దాల్చిన చెక్క) – 2 pieces
  • Cardamom (యాలకులు) – 2 pods
  • Bay leaf – 1
  • Star anise (స్టార్ సొంపు) – 1
  • Cashew nuts/ Almonds – 10

➡ For Fish Marination:

  • Oil – 3-4 table spoons
  • Chilly powder – 1/2 tea spoon
  • Salt – 1/2 tea spoon
  • Pepper powder – 1/4 tea spoon
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tea spoon
  • Egg – For fish

➡ preparation of Fish Biryani Recipe:

  1. Wash the basmati rice and allow it soak for atleast an hour. Fry the rice in 1 table spoon of ghee and keep aside (optional)
  2. Cut the fish fillets (cut (fish or meat) into boneless strips) into small pieces.
  3. Take a small bowl, break the egg in it and mix the spices under For fish with it (chilly powder, pepper powder, salt and turmeric powder).
  4. Marinate (leave the meat in a cool place to marinate overnight) the fish slices with the above mixture and slight fry it. Keep it aside.
  5. Heat ghee in a deep pan and add cinnamon (దాల్చిన చెక్క), cardamom (యాలకులు), bay leaf, star anise (స్టార్ సొంపు) and cloves (లవంగాలు).
  6. Add onions and fry till it becomes golden brown. Add the remaining ginger-garlic paste and green chillies and fry for 2-3 mins, until the oil or ghee floats.
  7. Add the tomato puree (crushed tomato) along with the chilly powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder and curd and fry till  paste is formed.
  8. Add part of the chopped coriander leaves saving a part for garnishing. Add chopped mint leaves and fry for another minute.
  9. Add the nuts to this mixture. Place the above mixture with the rice into a rice cooker with 3 cups water and let it cook.
  10. Once the biryani is done add the fried fish pieces to it. Gently toss everything with nice spatula (గరిటెలాంటి) without
    breaking the rice and keep covered for 10 minutes.
  11. Do this process when the biryani is still very very hot so that the flavor of the fish will get blended with the rice.
  12. Garnish with cilantro (coriander leaves) and few fried fish pieces on top and serve with raita (yogurt or curd).
  13. Yummy & Tasty Fish Biryani is ready to Eat.
